LUFTHANSA INNOVATION HUB TURNS SEVEN

In 2021, we continued to realize promising digital business models at the interface between the Lufthansa Group and the international travel and mobility tech world. We’ve never been so active or so green. The year witnessed successful spin-offs, cutting-edge innovations in the air-taxi scene, the “Green Mobility Trainee” project, and the “Compensaid Corporate Program.” These developments were occasionally impacted by the effects of global pandemic situation – both positively and negatively. In keeping with our tradition, here’s an overview of some of our key achievements from the last 12 months:

June – “Best Innovation Lab Germany 2021” – business magazine Capital puts us in the top 3.

July – With SQUAKE, we introduce a CO2 compensation platform for the travel, mobility, and transport industry. Using an API, companies can easily calculate and offset the CO2 emissions of their services.

August – As the spearhead of Lufthansa Group’s digitalization efforts, we are convinced that shared knowledge multiplies. Through our experts, we promote targeted exchange with the startup scene and the tech industry.
