Strategic Intelligence Team:

Within LIH, the Strategic Intelligence team provides the research foundation for this mission. We deliver data-driven insights, ecosystem analysis, and strategic foresight to support both internal decision-making and external relevance. We also run TNMT.com, our public research platform, which helps define the travel and mobility tech (TNMT) narrative through evidence-based analysis and storytelling.

Our research covers a wide range of topics and methods. These include themes from aviation technology hype cycles, startup funding trends, and AI adoption, to long-term traveler behavior shifts. We combine market data, tech indicators (such as patents and scientific publications), and media sentiment to cut through the noise and spotlight the signals that matter.

We are hiring a Strategic Intelligence Analyst (all genders) with a research analyst core and a focus on workshops and knowledge transfer. The role turns trends, signals, and technologies into clear, evidence-based insights and translates them into practical inputs for business units, primarily via workshops, training sessions, and executive discussions. You will prepare the research foundation (pre-reads, frameworks, datasets, insights, trends overviews, etc.), support and, where appropriate, confidently facilitate sessions with domain experts, and follow through with concise outcomes (decisions, owners, next steps). Your work contributes directly to the innovation agenda of one of the most complex and dynamic industries. You own the insight cycle end-to-end: from asking the right questions to ensuring outcomes land.

Responsibilities:

Research & analysis (core)

  • Frame strategic questions and synthesize quantitative and qualitative signals (e.g., funding, patents, customer reviews, traffic, media sentiment, performance metrics).
  • Keep methods, sources, and outputs tidy in our ResearchOps stack so work is transparent, repeatable, and scalable.

Workshops & knowledge transfer (focus area)

  • Prepare research-led materials for workshops and trainings (agendas, reports, signal maps, frameworks, data cuts, cases).
  • Support and, when appropriate, facilitate executive-style sessions with Lufthansa Group stakeholders.
  • Capture and package outcomes: short readouts, clear decisions, and simple measurement frameworks to track progress.

Stakeholder engagement & opportunity shaping (supporting)

  • Help identify the right stakeholders and the right business questions; align the workshop scope, objectives, and expected outcomes.
  • Contribute to light proposal materials (problem framing, agenda outline, indicative approach) together with SI leads.
  • Coordinate preparation touchpoints to ensure the right people, data, and assets are in the room.

Profile – must-haves:

  • 3–6 years in strategic research, market intelligence, consulting, or a related analytical field.
  • Hands-on experience supporting and running workshops in a corporate environment; confident engaging with domain experts; concise synthesis under time pressure.
  • Strong analytical thinking and data literacy; ability to work with larger datasets and common desktop tools (e.g., Excel/Sheets, basic visualization); openness to AI assistants.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication in English (C1); German is a plus.
  • Proactive, organized, and comfortable with ambiguity; collaborative and open to feedback.
  • Strongly values constructive feedback, excels in providing thoughtful input, and enjoys actively sparring on new ideas and diverse topics to drive innovation and enrich discussions.

Profile – nice-to-have:

  • Exposure to aviation, airline retail, loyalty, airport, or adjacent enterprise domains.
  • Experience in corporate innovation, foresight, or startup ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Miro, Notion, Crunchbase/PitchBook, or patent databases.
  • Data-visualization craft; comfort turning analysis into clear, simple visuals.

What we offer:

  • Be an essential member of a smart, hard-working and constantly growing team developing solutions for the traveller of tomorrow with one of the most iconic brands in aviation
  • Gain deep insights into the aviation world as well as the international start-up ecosystem
  • Work independently and entrepreneurial
  • Experience multi-faceted corporate culture with flat hierarchies in the heart of the Berlin tech ecosystem
  • Corporate benefits: As part of the Lufthansa family, you’ll enjoy flight discounts  — and yes, we also have a fruit basket.
