Psychological Safety
Boosting a speak-up culture at Lufthansa Group.
Nobody can innovate under pressure – be it physical or mental pressure. We only speak up and dare to share brave ideas, when we feel psychologically safe in our teams to do so. By looking into its key ingredients 'Vulnerability', 'Social identity', 'Empathy' and 'Effective Communication' we designed a workshop format to make Psychological Safety both tangible and actionable - applying it at several opportunities including a board-level workshop with Lufthansa Cargo.
In line with our conviction that Psychological Safety is a prerequisite to be innovative, we asked ourselves how to make this offering available throughout Lufthansa Group? So we teamed up with the Cultural Journey initiative in late 2023 and created a scalelable version of our workshop targeting teams at Lufthansa Group. Shortly after in April 2024, we launched our very first Train-the-Facilitator cohort on Psychological Safety. And this was only the beginning.
